My thoughts about ESRI Dev Summit
Attending ESRI's event was a fantastic experience. It was exciting to follow the works produced using ESRI products. Starting as a bronze partner, I dedicated time to attending all presentations with the desire to elevate this collaboration to higher levels. I plan to access the missed presentations through ESRI's recordings. Thank you, ESRI.
Dev Summit
I'm sure many valuable developers have taken their seats in this large hall to attend conferences. I would have loved to meet them, but the schedule was so tight that I was joining the next one after short breaks. This is the largest hall. Apart from that, there were many other smaller rooms. What excited me the most was watching demos of works written with ArcPy. Additionally, the presentations detailing ESRI products were also wonderful.
Fortune Cookie
Guess what I found out? Of course, 'It works on my machine.' When we write code, it always works on the computer we're working on. However, sometimes when we show it to the client, it can behave differently, much like subatomic particles do in the theory of relativity. This is the topic Einstein explained to us in the temple of science. As software developers, we have developed methods that meticulously track 1s and 0s to deliver our code with as few errors as possible.
Books and Gifts
At the ESRI store, there were many beautiful souvenirs and books. Two things that caught my interest and that I'm considering to delve into further are ArcPy and Web GIS. I will be publishing the work I do on these topics on my blog. I would love for you to follow along.
Palm Springs
Palm Springs, California, is a small city. There are many wind energy plants around it, and it's quite hot. There was a pool where we stayed, and if I had the time, I would definitely have swum. I also learned that this was the city where Marilyn Monroe lived. Imagine a small, sweet, and quiet city, that's Palm Springs.
