My thoughts about Miami
Miami is a fantastic place for vacationers and fun-seekers. The Latin population has truly infused this city with spirit. The city lights up vibrantly. The sea is crystal clear, and in Little Havana, you can experience Cuba's nightlife.
South Beach
While playing GTA Vice City, we used to see people strolling leisurely by the seaside. Those people seem to still be there and very relaxed. South Beach shore is extensive, and the sea looks crystal clear. A blue like glass. We call it turquoise. The sand looks like gold, and with its tiny grains, it feels as soft as velvet. Along the shore, there are many colorful cafes and restaurants, and one feels like sitting down to have a cocktail.
Colony Hotel
The Colony Hotel is an iconic spot here. I sat down to create a beautiful memory and enjoyed a chicken salad along with a delightful Sex on the Beach cocktail. Needless to say, both the salad and the cocktail were fantastic. I spent about 2 hours finishing them. It's a hotel you can see many times in GTA Vice City game. We also got to know it from the Scarface movie.
Dinner With Jordan
Jordan is a client I've known for about 4 years and have been doing remote work for. We've never actually spoken face to face before. He lives in Miami and is a true American. He spends quality time with his child, and he's diligent about his work. He's a hardworking man. It's been a pleasure working with him. Thank you for the dinner invitation.
Dolphine Mall
Dolphin Mall was the closest shopping center to me, so I went there on my second day. You can find many brands there. I went hoping to find products from quality and well-known brands cheaper than in Turkey, and I did. I even bought myself a new suitcase just to be able to carry all these clothes. Imagine, I was walking around the mall with a suitcase. You can find many beautiful brands here. It's located outside the city and close to the airport.
Afterlife Party 2024
While having dinner with Jordan, a waiter mentioned an event for house music lovers at Marine Stadium on March 20th. I kept that in mind but forgot about it amidst spending so much time at Dolphin Mall. It wasn't until I returned to the hotel that I remembered the event. I quickly dressed up and headed to the party. As I approached the party venue, I could feel the bass thumping in my chest. However, the tickets were quite expensive, and there were some Hispanic individuals selling tickets at the door. I asked how much time was left for the party to end, and they said it would go on until morning. For Turks, it usually starts around 7-8 in the morning, but I guess for Americans, it means around 2-3 in the morning. When I bought the ticket for the party, it was 11:00 PM. I entered, danced, and listened to the fantastic songs of Anyma. I needed to drink some alcohol to dance, so I went and had some. But before I knew it, the party ended at 2:00 AM, and I was quite disappointed. Even though I had to catch a flight the next day, I didn't care. It was a fantastic party.
Little Havana
Little Havana is predominantly inhabited by Cubans. I believe it was founded by those who didn't want to stay in Cuba after the revolution and wanted to settle in America. The streets are filled with wall paintings, and the artists who created them are quite talented. Let me tell you the strangest experience I had here. I had a craving for coconut, so I wanted to buy one from a street vendor. The man drilled a hole in the coconut, inserted a straw, and handed it to me. The coconut was heavy, and I had to carry it in my arms. It was the fastest and weirdest fruit juice I've ever had. You can't escape Latin music in Little Havana. Amazing wall paintings await you there.
Cuba Cars
I had the opportunity to learn a bit about the life of Cubans. I came across many rooster sculptures on the streets, but I didn't know what they symbolized. Also, seeing domino tiles felt strange. Later, I read on Wikipedia and learned that culturally, Cubans engage in cockfighting and enjoy playing dominoes in their leisure time. It all made sense. Besides that, I also got to see Cuban-made cars. What caught my attention the most was the white ring on the wheels of these cars. Almost all of them had a white ring.
Later, I sat down at a bar called Balls and Chain. Here, I ordered tacos and a mojito. After finishing my meal, music and dancing began. With fantastic music, great food, and Latin dances, I had an amazing night, especially with the company of Cubans. Miami remained in my mind as a wonderful place to live.
